- Worn-down teeth
What Does a Veneer Procedure Involve?
A typical dental veneer procedure requires 2 visits to one of our dental offices in Andover or Newton, New Jersey.
When you arrive for your appointment, Dr. Best will examine your oral condition and draw up the best course of action to suit your specific needs.
Consultation and Treatment Planning
Dr. Best will run tests and examine your dental condition to determine if veneers are the best treatment for your specific situation on your first visit. Next, Dr. Best will brief you on the procedure including the steps involved, the look you could achieve, and how to maintain it in the long run.
If required, Dr. Best may also recommend taking X-rays and impressions of your teeth and mouth.
In this stage, Dr. Best will file down part of your tooth enamel and reshape your teeth to create enough space to place the veneers. Next, we will take impressions of your teeth and forward them to the dental laboratory that fabricates the veneers.
You will be fitted with temporary veneers until your next appointment when the permanent veneers will be placed.
On your final visit, Dr. Best will use a dental bonding agent to fit the veneers on top of the prepared tooth surfaces. Dr. Best will analyze the veneers' color, shape, and fit and trim your teeth, if necessary, to ensure their fit and your comfort.
Next, Dr. Best will use a curing light to harden the adhesive and check your bite to ensure everything is working well.
