Our Best Dental Care NJ, LLC team is here to help you restore your oral health immediately if you’ve knocked out a tooth. The first thing you need to do is stay calm. Staying calm will help you have a clear mind and will help make the situation better. Then, once you’ve calmed yourself, you can do the following things:

-Retrieve the tooth: After your tooth has fallen out of your mouth, retrieve it and hold it by the crown. The crown is the portion of the tooth that was visible when it was still in the smile. Then, if the tooth is dirty, rinse off the roots with water. As you wash the tooth, please do not scrub it. Scrubbing will remove the necessary tissue fragments.

-Try to put the tooth back in place: If possible, put the tooth back into the socket. As you do so, make sure the tooth is facing the right way and do not force the tooth into place. If this is not possible, you can put the tooth in a small container of milk, in a cup of water with a pinch of table salt, or in a product that contains cell growth medium.

-See your dentist: If you want to save your tooth, it’s important that you see your dentist and put the tooth back into place within 1 hour of the tooth being knocked out.
